While Corona didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Redlands East Valley Wildcats 4-3. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered an 11-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

The victory made it two in a row for Corona and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Redlands East Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Corona Panthers take on Rancho Cucamonga Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Redlands East Valley, they will take on San Juan Hills in a tournament on Thursday.
