Clinton beats St. Pauls for their ninth straight win

Recap: Clinton Dark Horses vs. St. Pauls Bulldogs

The Clinton Dark Horses put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past St. Pauls, posting a 50-16 win on the road. Fans of Clinton have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.

Clinton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah MClaurin led the charge by rushing for 170 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Josiah Robinson also helped out as he racked up 129 rushing yards.

Clinton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for St. Pauls, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will face off against Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairmont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 349th, while Clinton is ranked 27th). As for St. Pauls, they will head out on the road to face off against Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
