Baseball Recap: Chattanooga Christian Triumphs

Chattanooga Christian lost to Ensworth on Wednesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Chargers won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 3-2.

Chattanooga Christian got a great performance from Aidan Swinney as he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave Swinney a new career-high.

At the plate, Chattanooga Christian's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Keegan Nieckula, who went 1-for-5 with one run and one double.

Chattanooga Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-15 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Ensworth, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-16 record.

Chattanooga Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
