Baseball Recap: Calhoun City Comes Up Short

Calhoun City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 14-8 to the Hamilton Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in February.

Jacob Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Zawon Edwards was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Calhoun City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Hamilton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Calhoun City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hamilton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Caledonia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
