Freeburg has gone 8-1 against Granite City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Midgets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Freeburg didn't have quite enough to beat St. Louis University and fell 5-3. The Midgets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joey Pruett was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ethan Foster made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Granite City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 9-5 to Alton.

Keithan Noel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tm Bradley, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Granite City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Freeburg, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Freeburg beat Granite City 8-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will the Midgets repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
