Basketball Game Preview: Williamsport Wildcats vs. Smithsburg Leopards

Having just played yesterday, the Williamsport Wildcats will get right back to it and host the Smithsburg Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Williamsport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Williamsport will bounce into Friday's match after beating Middletown, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Williamsport strolled past Middletown with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 75-56.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Smithsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They took down Catoctin 65-49 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Leopards as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Williamsport pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Smithsburg, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

Everything came up roses for Williamsport against Smithsburg when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 72-37 victory. Does Williamsport have another victory up their sleeve, or will Smithsburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
