Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Warhill

Warhill entered their tilt with Denbigh on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Patriots.

Grayson Thompson and Theo Manna made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Thompson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Manna didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Thompson went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Manna went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Warhill is undefeated when Manna posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Evan Harney, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Another was Judah Mihalcoe, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Warhill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Warhill pushed their record up to 7-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Denbigh, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Warhill will welcome Poquoson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Denbigh, they will head out on the road to challenge Bethel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bruins will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
