            Softball Recap: Estill County Engineers vs. Lee County Bobcats        
        
		
        
        
            Estill County had won three straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 16-8 to make it four. They came out on top against the Lee County Bobcats by a score of  3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  11-1  back in April.

The result came thanks to  Bella Rice's shutout, as she gave up just a  hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Amelia Spivey, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Those  two  hits gave  her a new career-high.
As for Lee County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11. Having soared to a lofty 13  runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 On Lee County's side,  Preslee Cundiff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three  runs (all of which were unearned)  on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
 Looking ahead, Estill County will welcome Frederick Douglass  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Lee County, they will venture away from home to  challenge Jackson County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
