Volleyball Recap: Crestview Takes a Loss

If Crestview was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mansfield Senior on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the South Central Trojans on Tuesday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Crestview started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-23.

Jillian Weaver paced Crestview's offense, picking up 12 kills. Weaver got some help from Sophie Shifflet and her 14 assists. Zoe Kuhn controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Central, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestview will square off against Bucyrus at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Central, they will face off against Ashland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
