Baseball Recap: Viola's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Viola). They blew past the Mammoth Spring Bears 19-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Longhorns have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Viola's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mammoth Spring, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viola will take on Calico Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Calico Rock has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.11 runs per game on average), something Viola will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mammoth Spring, they will challenge Cedar Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
