Volleyball Recap: Linn's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Linn unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Hermann Bearcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-23, 25-23.

Kylie Goans paced Linn's offense, picking up seven kills. Goans also shared the team's lead in assists with Nicole Grellner: they picked up ten each. Ali Russell controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Hermann's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brynlee Ash led the charge by getting five digs and three aces.

Linn's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 21-8-3. As for Hermann, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13-2 record this season.

Linn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hermann, they will challenge Duchesne on Thursday.
