Soccer Game Preview: Woodside vs. Maury

Woodside hasn't had much luck against Maury recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wolverines will look to defend their home pitch against the Commodores at 4:00 p.m. Maury took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Woodside, who comes in off a win.

While Woodside's win against Denbigh wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Patriots on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Maury didn't have quite enough to beat Hickory two weeks ago and fell 3-2.

Zareya Owens and Zoe Redel scored both of the Commodores' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Maury's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Woodside, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
