Basketball Recap: Compton Takes a Loss

Compton played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Woodrow Wilson Bruins, falling 99-75. The loss continues a trend for the Tarbabes in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Compton still got an impressive performance from Roman Sims, who went 9-for-16 on his way to 26 points. Thanks to that strong game, Sims now owns an excellent 45.6% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Zai Williams, who posted 14 points and five rebounds.

Compton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Woodrow Wilson, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Compton will welcome Cabrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tarbabes' defense better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 54.2 points per game this season. As for Woodrow Wilson, they will head out on the road to square off against Millikan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
