Baseball Recap: Philo Falls to New Philadelphia in First Game of Season

Philo unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the New Philadelphia Quakers on Saturday, falling 7-1. If the Electrics were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Quakers when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Philo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clayton Colborn, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Colborn has posted since back in April of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philo will square off against Indian Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for New Philadelphia, they will venture away from home to face off against John Glenn at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
