Martin was the 8-0 winner over Rio Grande City when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Martin Tigers fell just short of the Rio Grande City Rattlers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Martin now has a losing record at 4-5-2. As for Rio Grande City, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martin will square off against Nixon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Martin's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Rio Grande City, they will take on Juarez-Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Juarez-Lincoln will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Rio Grande City surely won't give up without a fight.
