Nicholas Collins was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Orangewood Christian got the win against Trinity Christian Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Tre Roach made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Addison Lambert and Austin Wendorf did most of the damage at the plate: Lambert scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Wendorf scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Wendorf has become a key player for Orangewood Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Carson Balls was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Orangewood Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .294.
Orangewood Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Edgewater now has a winning record of 9-8.
