Softball Recap: Woodland Regional Hawks vs. Naugatuck Greyhounds

Woodland Regional can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They never let the Naugatuck Greyhounds onto the board and left with a 17-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but Woodland Regional sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Ella VanAlstyne was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. VanAlstyne has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. VanAlstyne was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Paige Chiaramonte was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ayla DeCrescenzo, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
