Football Recap: Red Jacket Comes Up Short

Red Jacket and Mynderse Academy pushed the score to 64-24 the last time they played Mynderse Academy, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. Red Jacket fell 16-8 to Mynderse Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Red Jacket came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Mynderse Academy is ranked 527th).

Red Jacket's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mynderse Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Red Jacket will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Seneca/Romulus on the 24th. As for Mynderse Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Midlakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
