Carmichaels extended their winning streak to 11 on Monday, bumping their season record up to 11-0 in the process. They put the hurt on the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Mighty Mikes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by eight runs or more this season.
Bailey Barnyak made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Carmichaels got a massive performance out of Ali Jacobs, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Ashton Batis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Carmichaels kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.
As for Bethlehem Center, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
On Bethlehem Center's side, Hannah Belmont spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits. Belmont has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bethlehem Center saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alli Lynch, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Lynch's first of the season.
Coming up, Carmichaels will challenge Mapletown at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Maples have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.38 runs per game on average), something the Mighty Mikes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bethlehem Center, they are taking a road trip to face off against West Greene at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
