Baseball Recap: Jerome Triumphs

Jerome took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mountain Home, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Jerome came out on top in a nail-biter against Mountain Home on Friday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Jerome has posted since April 19, 2024.

Lane Arellano was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Arellano wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Hartzell, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs. Hartzell has become a key player for Jerome: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-14 otherwise.

The victory made it two in a row for Jerome and bumps their season record up to 10-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Mountain Home, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9.

As of now, neither Jerome nor Mountain Home have any future games scheduled.
