Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Takes a Loss

Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the New Life Christian Academy Lions, falling 71-23. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading New Life Christian Academy to victory were Jake Hamilton and Cameron McEarchern. Hamilton dropped a triple-double with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists, while McEarchern dropped a double-double with 20 points and 18 boards. Hamilton has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 35 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Abraham Robinson, who posted eight points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for New Life Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Heritage Christian will host Hundred at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hundred's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups. As for New Life Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 83-57 defeat against Bloomingdale on the 18th.
