Baseball Recap: Caldwell Academy Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Caldwell Academy's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Greensboro Day School Bengals on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bengals: they've now lost eight in a row.

Caldwell Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Plasman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. The dominant performance gave Plasman a new career-high in stolen bases.

Caldwell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Greensboro Day School, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caldwell Academy will head out to face off against South Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greensboro Day School, they will face off against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greensboro Day School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
