Basketball Recap: Mya Roberson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Momence over Clifton Central

Momence lost against Clifton Central back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Momence Momence Athletics took a hard 50-36 fall against the Clifton Central Comets.

Momence's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Roberson, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of A Miracle Johnson, who posted eight points and four steals.

Momence's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Clifton Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Coming up, Momence won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Illinois Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Momence is facing Illinois Lutheran at the right time seeing as Illinois Lutheran is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Clifton Central, they will face off against Tri-Point at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tri-Point comes in on 13 and Clifton Central on three.
