Softball Game Preview: McKinley Trojans vs. Memorial Red Devils

For the second straight game, McKinley will face off against Memorial. The Trojans will host the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinley has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 8.

Memorial hit McKinley with a five-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Red Devils, falling 11-1.

For Memorial's part, Bella Ornelas and Ramani Adams were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ornelas pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Adams tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ornelas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Ornelas went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Adams got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits Ornelas has posted since back in April of 2025.

Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Memorial's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for McKinley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.
