Basketball Game Preview: Deuel Cardinals vs. Dell Rapids Quarriers

The Deuel Cardinals will square off against the Dell Rapids Quarriers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Deuel is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Deuel duked it out with Groton on Thursday. Deuel had to suffer through a 59-30 loss at the hands of Groton. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Tigers are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Dell Rapids came up short against Tri-Valley on Thursday and fell 48-41. The loss continues a trend for the Quarriers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Deuel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Dell Rapids, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Deuel came up short against Dell Rapids in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, falling 54-46. Can Deuel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
