League recap: Morgan's hitting boosts Golden West

West Yosemite league recap: 3/8/13

Tyler Morgan was on fire this week, as he led West Yosemite with a .583 average with seven RBIs. Meanwhile, Golden West put together a 4-0 week.

Top honors in the league this week go to the Trailblazers, which finished with four wins overall, good for best in the league. Golden West beat Yosemite 13-7, Mission Oak 20-3 and Sunnyside 10-4.

El Diamante boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The league boasted seven .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Justin Willard, who hit .714 by going 5-for-7.

Hunter Bettencourt and Blake Edmondson hit home runs this week.



Morgan drove in four runners on Tuesday in the Trailblazers' 13-7 victory over the Badgers. He went 2-for-2 and scored one run.

Lemoore's Dustin Pfarr struck out eight Dinuba hitters en route to a 2-1 victory on February 26. He gave up four hits and one run over seven innings of work.
