Basketball Recap: Sheridan Generals vs. Coshocton Redskins
Sheridan was the 63-35 winner over Coshocton when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sheridan Generals lost to the Coshocton Redskins on the road by a 77-60 margin on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Redskins are ranked 105th).
Coshocton was led to victory by Colton Conkle and Alex Taylor. Conkle went 6-for-11 en route to 20 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds, while Taylor dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. Conkle is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Blayden Workman was another key player, putting up five points and three blocks.
Sheridan's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11. As for Coshocton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
Coming up, Sheridan will square off against Crooksville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Coshocton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-47 win against Claymont on the 12th.
