Softball Game Preview: Cypress Falls Eagles vs. Cypress Ridge Rams

The Cypress Falls Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Cypress Ridge Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Falls has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 5.

Cypress Falls lost 10-1 to Cy-Fair on Tuesday.

Cypress Falls saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Leblanc, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while it was Cypress Ridge who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Stratford who put up more. The Rams came up short against the Spartans, falling 12-1. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Ariel Arambula was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Cypress Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Cypress Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Cypress Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cypress Falls has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Cypress Ridge, though, as they've only averaged .347. Will they be able to contain Cypress Falls' hitters?

Cypress Falls came up short against Cypress Ridge when the teams last played back in March, falling 15-12. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
