Baseball Game Preview: Shiner Comanches vs. Agua Dulce Longhorns

The Shiner Comanches will square off against the Agua Dulce Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shiner will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Shiner barely beat Flatonia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comanches were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Comanches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Carson Schuette, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cauy Herman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Agua Dulce fell victim to Poth and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. Considering the last time the Longhorns couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Shiner pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Agua Dulce, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
