Basketball Recap: Stella High Charter Academy Falls to New Designs University Park in First Game of Season

Stella High Charter Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to the New Designs University Park Cardinals on the road by a 30-15 margin on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

New Designs University Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dorian Pollard out in front who posted eight points and five steals. That's the most steals Pollard has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Khameron Butler, who put up six points in addition to six steals and five rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Stella High Charter Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on New West Charter at 3:30 p.m. on December 5. As for New Designs University Park, they will take on Lakeview Charter at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
