Baseball Recap: Iona Prep Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Iona Prep can now relate to. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings on Sunday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in April.

Iona Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5-1. As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Iona Prep will square off against Archbishop Stepinac at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Crusaders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. St. Joseph-by-the-Sea does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
