Recap: Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks vs. Cross Stingrays

The Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks lost against the Cross Stingrays last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Colleton Prep Academy fell to Cross 40-34. Colleton Prep Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cross found their leader in underclassman Ryan Mayers, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mayers has scored all season. Lexann Maldonado was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 17 rebounds and seven blocks.

Colleton Prep Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9. As for Cross, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colleton Prep Academy will face off against Holy Trinity Classical Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Trinity Classical Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Cross' road trip will continue as they head out to face Hilton Head Prep at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Cross focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
