Basketball Recap: Desert Hills Victorious

Desert Hills won the last time they faced Snow Canyon, and Freeman Springer did his part to make sure it happened again. The Desert Hills Thunder walked away with a 42-35 victory over the Snow Canyon Warriors on Friday thanks in part to Springer, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave him a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Snow Canyon lost, don't look at Reggie Mackay. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Mackay is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Troy Hamlin also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Desert Hills' win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Snow Canyon, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Desert Hills will welcome Pine View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Desert Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. As for Snow Canyon, they will challenge Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
