Basketball Game Preview: Pembroke Spartans vs. Coe-Brown Academy Bears

The Pembroke Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Coe-Brown Academy Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pembroke has seven straight wins, Coe-Brown Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, everything went Pembroke's way against Bow as Pembroke made off with a 54-33 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Coe-Brown Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 52-51 to Pelham.

Pembroke's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points over those games. As for Coe-Brown Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Pembroke couldn't quite finish off Coe-Brown Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 52-49. Can Pembroke avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
