Softball Game Preview: Bay Tigers vs. Biloxi Indians

The Bay Tigers are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Biloxi Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bay can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. They lost 14-5 to D'Iberville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 23, 2024.

Madison Weems - 2025 and Lakeitha Sampson - 2025 did some serious damage despite the final result: Weems - 2025 went a perfect2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Sampson - 2025 scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Devin Bourgeois - 2025 was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Biloxi came up short against Vancleave on Thursday and fell 6-3. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Aubrey Atchison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect2-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Everything went Bay's way against Biloxi when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Bay made off with a 9-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bay since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
