Basketball Recap: Franklin Central Triumphs

If Hunter-Tannersville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Franklin Central, they should've done a better job of containing Shannon Kingsbury. The Franklin Central Purple Devils walked away with a 56-46 victory over the Hunter-Tannersville Wildcats on Saturday thanks in part to Kingsbury, who went 12 of 28 to rack up 31 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Franklin Central's points.

Another player making a difference was Riley McNamara, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those six assists gave her a new career-high.

The win got Franklin Central back to even at 8-8. As for Hunter-Tannersville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sharon Springs Central the next time they take the court. Hunter-Tannersville will host Sharon Springs Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Franklin Central will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
