After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mendenhall, Columbia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the West Marion Trojans 80-50. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Columbia was led to victory by Braylon Johnson and Jaydon Johnson. Braylon shot 89% from the field to rack up 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Jaydon went 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. That's the most rebounds Jaydon has posted since back in November of 2024. Bryson Foxworth was another key player, going 6-for-15 en route to 17 points and seven boards.

Despite the loss, West Marion still got an impressive performance from James Stampley, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 21 points. The matchup was Stampley's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaylen Matthews, who earned 12 points.

Columbia now has a winning record of 2-1. As for West Marion, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Columbia has already played their next game (against Tylertown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for West Marion, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-53 victory against Sumrall on the 18th.
