Preview: Perry Commodores vs. Vanlue Wildcats
Perry has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Vanlue Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Thursday, Perry came up short against Elgin and fell 53-40.
Meanwhile, Vanlue ended up a good deal behind Arlington on Thursday and lost 61-42. Vanlue has not had much luck with Arlington recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Vanlue saw an underclassman step up: Adrienne Phillips scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Phillips has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Brooks, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Vanlue, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Perry beat Vanlue 50-43 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Perry repeat their success, or does Vanlue have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
