Baseball Game Preview: St. Andrew's Episcopal Lions vs. Flint Hill Huskies

St. Andrew's Episcopal hasn't had much luck against Flint Hill recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Huskies at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Andrew's Episcopal took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Saint James, sneaking past 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Flint Hill owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. Everything went their way against Episcopal as they made off with a 6-0 win. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Vincenzo Fiorino made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Logan Lucca was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Asher Ricard was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Flint Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. St. Andrew's Episcopal's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7.
