Softball Recap: Portola Takes a Loss

Portola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 13-9 to the Oxford Academy Patriots. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 21-3 to the Patriots when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Portola's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Oxford Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 15-4 record this season.

Portola will square off against Irvine at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oxford Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-6 loss against Cerritos on the 11th.
