Baseball Recap: Westerly Comes Up Short

The matchup between Westerly and Chariho on Saturday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bulldogs lost 15-5 to the Chargers. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Jackson Mankoff was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Matteo Hackett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Westerly's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Chariho, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Looking ahead, Westerly will welcome South Kingstown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chariho, they will head out on the road to take on St. Raphael Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
