 It was a good run, but  the Manokotak Lynx unfortunately witnessed the end of their  eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory  and fell  48-47 to Bristol Bay. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Manokotak came into the  contest with a sizable advantage  in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings  (they are ranked 20th, while Bristol Bay is ranked 61st).
 When it comes to explaining why Manokotak lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Kelisha Gloko. Despite the final result, she  scored 15 points.  Bristol Bay found their leader in underclassman  Brooke Phelps, who  scored 19 points.  Olivia Harvilla was another key contributor,  scoring 11 points.
 Manokotak's defeat  ended a seven-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 12-3. As for Bristol Bay, they now  have a winning record of 8-7.
 Manokotak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bristol Bay, they will square off against Tuluksak at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
