Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop Hartley Hawks vs. Highland Fighting Scots

The Bishop Hartley Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Highland Fighting Scots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Last Wednesday, Bishop Hartley didn't have quite enough to beat St. Francis DeSales and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Stallions: they've now lost four in a row.

Bishop Hartley took St. Francis DeSales into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 22-25, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Highland entered their tilt with Ontario on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Warriors.

Highland had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-11, 15-8.

Bishop Hartley's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Bishop Hartley was able to grind out a solid victory over Highland in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
