Recap: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Aurora Greenmen
It was a good run, but the Crestwood Red Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. The matchup between Crestwood and Aurora wasn't particularly close, with Crestwood falling 64-48. Crestwood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Aurora apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
Crestwood's loss came despite strong showings from Charlie Schweickert and Dekota Johnson. Schweickert scored 19 points, while Johnson scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. James Durham was another key contributor, scoring no points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Crestwood's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Aurora, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.
Crestwood on the road again on Friday and play against Grand Valley at 6:45 p.m. on January 19th. Grand Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 635th, while Crestwood is ranked 175th). As for Aurora, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tallmadge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tallmadge is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
