Football Recap: City View Skates Past Valley View with Ease

City View came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 56-13 win over the Valley View Eagles. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead City View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malachi Williams, who threw for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to City View's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Jayden Bradford was the leader with two. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Valley View's side was Matthew Whiteside, who made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss) and snagged an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for City View, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Whiteside, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

City View's record is now 8-2. As for Valley View, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, City View will look to defend their home field on Friday against Brady at 7:00 p.m. Valley View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
