Football Recap: New Salem Holsteins vs. Kidder County Wolves

New Salem extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were outmatched by the Kidder County Wolves and fell 60-30. The Holsteins lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 38-34 score last time.

As for Kidder County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Kidder County had a senior duo take command as Mason Whitman rushed for 150 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry and Bryce Larson gained 145 total yards and two touchdowns. Whitman also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss). Grady Larson got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

New Salem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kidder County, they will square off against Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight.
