Softball Recap: Giles Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Seven must be Giles's lucky number: they beat George Wythe with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Spartans beat the Maroons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won three in a row.

Giles pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for George Wythe, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Giles will head out on the road to challenge Fort Chiswell at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for George Wythe, they will be playing at home against Grayson County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Maroons surely won't give up without a fight.
