Basketball Recap: Gem State Adventist Academy Takes a Loss

Gem State Adventist Academy lost against Compass Charter back in December of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars were dealt a 56-5 defeat at the hands of the Compass Charter Aviators. The match marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Compass Charter to victory were Sophia Deasy and Sophie Kartchner. Deasy dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 steals, while Kartchner dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 steals. Kartchner is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Reanna Byers, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Gem State Adventist Academy dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Compass Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Gem State Adventist Academy has already played their next matchup (against Centennial Baptist), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Compass Charter will challenge Vision at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vision will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Compass Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
