Preview: Rio Vista Rams vs. Highlands Scots
Rio Vista has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Highlands Scots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Rio Vista came up short against the Falcons and fell 52-45.
Defeat or not, Rio Vista got some senior leadership from Ashlynd Rhett and John Peterson. Rhett dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Peterson. scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 35.6% of Rio Vista's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Highlands' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Golden Sierra 58-52. Highlands has not had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Rio Vista's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7. As for Highlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
Rio Vista strolled past the Scots when the teams last played back in January by a score of 68-51. Does Rio Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
