Basketball Recap: New Iberia Takes a Loss

New Iberia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 52-42 to the Lafayette Lions. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 35-34 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

New Iberia's defeat dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Lafayette, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Iberia will take on Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette, they will face off against Sulphur at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Lafayette surely won't give up without a fight.
